Last night saw the final of the 2015 Godiva Chocolate Challenge held at our Wigmore Street showroom.
Four talented young finalists toiled away on our Alno kitchen displays crafting their chocolate and meringue deserts to present for judging by the impressive panel of William Sitwell, the MasterChef TV critic, Mark Hix, the leading UK chef, Gizzi Erskine, chef and food writer and head Godiva chocolatier Jean Apostolou.
The judges were very impressed with the level of competition - and looking at the finished finalists' dishes we can see why.
Reigning Chocolate Queen Heather Bennett was again victorious, winning the judges over with her raspberry and chocolate meringue yumminess. A well deserved winner - congratulations Heather!
Heather's winning dessert - 'Come Fly With Me' will be featured on the menu of one of Mark Hix's restaurants for one week.
In addition to seeing lots of lovely chocolate based deserts being made on our beautiful displays we also got the chance to try some of the delicious Godiva chocolates and see their iconic chocolate dipped strawberries being made.

Louis, project manager, from Halcyon Interiors cycled 721 miles from the Alno Store in Wigmore Street to our factory in Pfullendorf Germany. The journey took just over six days passing through France and Belgium to reach Germany, Halcyon Interiors covered all of Louis' expenses allowing all monies to go directly to the worthy cause. During the Summer holidays Halcyon Interiors The ALNO Store opened it's doors for work experience students and although Bhavisha did not design a kitchen she gained a great understanding of how it all works at our Wigmore Street Showroom. We all certainly enjoyed sharing our showroom and having an extra pair of hands at tea time!
We look forward to welcoming Bhavisha back when she wants to join our successful design team.
