Godiva Challenge Finalist Event for Chocolate Week

Last night saw the final of the 2015 Godiva Chocolate Challenge held at our Wigmore Street showroom. 

Four talented young finalists toiled away on our Alno kitchen displays crafting their chocolate and meringue deserts  to present for judging by the impressive panel of William Sitwell, the MasterChef TV critic, Mark Hix, the leading UK chef, Gizzi Erskine, chef and food writer and head Godiva chocolatier Jean Apostolou. 

The judges were very impressed with the level of competition - and looking at the finished finalists' dishes we can see why. 

Reigning Chocolate Queen Heather Bennett was again victorious, winning the judges over with her raspberry and chocolate meringue yumminess. A well deserved winner - congratulations Heather! 

Heather's winning dessert - 'Come Fly With Me' will be featured on the menu of one of Mark Hix's restaurants for one week. 

 

In addition to seeing lots of lovely chocolate based deserts being made on our beautiful displays we also got the chance to try some of the delicious Godiva chocolates and see their iconic chocolate dipped strawberries being made.

Lobsterdog launch at our Wigmore Street store

There was more delicious food at Halcyon Interiors The Alno Store in Wigmore Street on Tuesday night when new start up 'Lobsterdog' held its launch event. 

Lobsterdog has been created by Chef Nigel Jones and is backed by well-known chef Anthony Worral Thompson.  Lobsterdog is a sausage with lobster as the principle ingredient, nestled within a special recipe brioche bun with a chicory base served with a unique Lobsterdog recipe sauce.

Lobsterdog is planning pop ups around the UK soon - so try it if you can, it's delicious!

Gorgeous Godiva comes to Wigmore Street

It's an exciting day at Halcyon Interiors today - the inimitable Godiva chocolates are filming at our Halcyon Interiors The ALNO Store branch on Wigmore Street, London.  

To celebrate Chocolate Week on 12 - 18th October (and maybe even following on from last night's Great British Bake Off chocolate-fest!) Godiva is using our showrooms to film the making of their iconic chocolate dipped strawberries. 

Before we succumb completely to our sugar coma - we wanted to show off these lovely snaps of the Godiva chocolatier at work...
